My name is Larabee. I am helping get a new class action suit certified. The suit claims the province failed to take all necessary steps to protect the rights of Crown wards to apply for compensation from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board or to file personal injury claims for children who were abused prior to or while in the care of the Province. I advocate that we jail the killer CAS workers.

I don't know everything that happened in those homes so that is why we are demanding a public inquest. We have the reports to prove it. The system itself is admitting openly in documents that my kid was assaulted by another older kid. You are doing the devils work. Please think about what u r doing.

Jonathan Ptak himself said that the homes the province and the CAS put kids into were often not appropriately supervised. Did you know that Ontario is the only province in Canada that does not allow its Ombudsman to fully and independently investigate the CAS? He said it on CBC NEWS. I am the MOTHER and my kid did not deserve this kind of abuse and neglect. I am posting this for my entire family.

DeleteI can't stop being honest about my childhood experiences now. I have met so many inspiring people in the last 8 years. I met these people online and met them in person at events in Ontario. These are real people who matter to me. They are my family and they are the people who inspire me to keep going. All of these people have also been on the news advocating for a better child protection system in Canada. Some of their names are Velvet Martin, Brenda Everall, Francine Larabee, and even Neil Haskett from Sudbury Ontario and Jane Scharf from Ottawa Ontario and Jessie McVicar from Alberta and Vernon Beck from Canada Court Watch and Attila Vinczer and Carole Chretien-Rankin and Toni Grann and Holly Papassay and Lee Bolton. I have also been inspired by Paul Williams too by just simply reading this story. Also John Dunn and reading how he found his brother and how it helped him heal. I see him on Facebook every now and than and smile thinking believing that he is moving on and letting go of his own anger. He is currently supporting a PTSD campaign. I don't know all the details but just seeing his face and knowing he is on Facebook makes me feel good knowing he is doing ok. These people inspired me when one one else would. I will never forget this CAS reform movement. We are all getting older. I am 27 years old and I am waking that its not just CAS that needs to be fixed but also Long Term Care Homes and Hospitals that need to be fixed. Dont take my word for it. Do your own research.
When someone with an actual social work degree goes to work for the C.A.S., they get encouraged to quit the college registry (C.A.S. does not want anyone that works for C.A.S under a microscope in a public format) so they become "child protection workers" that our lying damn government claims they can't do anything about YET THEY ARE FUNDING C.A.S with tax $$$$$$ and stupid people like yourself are doing nothing about it and that makes you apart of it. At the time, the Superior Court trial heard, the man was a 14-year-old Crown ward and was staying at the Boys Home in Minnow Lake where Hall was the director.
The Crown is proceeding with six of 13 charges laid against Hall, now 69, in early 2013 following a lengthy Ontario Provincial Police investigation.
Hall is a former chief of the Estate-Wanup Volunteer Fire Brigade. The Boys Home closed its doors in 1980.

All victims in Ontario have the legal right to apply for compensation if they have been the victim of a crime. This is not just for former and current crown wards. Any citizen has the right to file a claim with the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board if they have been the victim of a crime. Money is available. The legislation is quite clear. The Board says it is up to individual victims to apply for board money.

Further, Justice Pierce granted the plaintiffs' motion for an order that the first part of the test for certification is granted.Currently, over 500 class members have contacted class counsel. Class counsel encourages former Crown wards to contact them to assist in these claims being advanced. Justice Pierce's ruling now allows the proposed representative plaintiffs to proceed with the next step in their class action, and ultimately one step closer to seeing justice.

I want taxpayers in Sudbury and Timmins and Hamilton and Toronto and New York City to be aware of this new suit and the fact that nobody cared. I want people to know my story. I want to share my story. I want others to view my You Tube videos and blogs and ask others to share it with their friends and family. I want stupid people to wake up and stop paying their taxes in large groups. I want to see rallies outside court houses and CAS offices and Police Stations and Queens Park in Toronto and rallies in Ottawa Ontario. Well then maybe now is a good time for our government to open their eyes and give the Ontario Ombudsman the power to investigate what's going on inside of the Children's Aid so that the problems can be fixed. One of the best recommendations would be is that our government should be delivering child protection services not private corporations.

ReplyDeleteLast night I had a man on the street shake my hand and encourage me to keep is going! He was older than me. He gave me a firm handshake. I talked to him shortly about the new crown ward class action suit and the province of Ontario and the CAS. The man validated my experiences and pain. This new class action suit is NOT just about us former foster kids coming forward and seeking justice. We are also seeking validation. Validate that these things happened to us. My mother and I are in Sudbury Ontario and we are talking to the public and taxpayers about the crown ward suit.

Some people are just cruel and mean spirited and have such a low self esteem themselves that they have to try and tear other people down to their level to make themselves feel bigger and better. Other people are just rude and crude and think they know it all and think they have some kind of power and do not really think of other people of their feelings those people are heartless.
